From the moment I moved to Charleston, I knew I was going to love the tradition of bridal portraits that the south is known for. I absolutely adore the idea of an entire shoot dedicated to celebrating my beautiful brides and their gowns, and it’s always a great trial run before the wedding day for hair, makeup and styling!
I knew from the moment that Jessica and I started planning her bridals, that they were going to be epic in every way! We decided to use her future wedding venue, Cypress Trees Plantation, for that classic, southern romance feel that truly gave me all of the Notebook vibes. But aside from the gorgeous, glowy light, the abundant mossy oaks, and the airiest veil you ever did see, what truly made her session special was Jessica’s choice to include her grandmother’s wedding gown in a portrait of her session. She paired it with a framed portrait of her grandmother from her own wedding day (in the exact same gown!) and, best of all, she managed to pull it all off as a surprise for her momma on their wedding day! Right before stepping into her wedding dress, Jessica gifted her mom a framed portrait of her wearing the lace gown!
Now that Jessica is officially Mrs. King, I couldn’t wait another moment to share all of my favorites from her bridal session! Jess, you made for the most beautiful bride, both at your portraits and on your wedding day, and I know someday your granddaughter will be in awe of just how stunning you are in your portraits!
Special thanks to the owners of Cypress Trees Plantation for allowing us to roam their beautiful property! Gown from Verita Bridal Charleston, blooms by On a Limb Florals.
