For those who are new to Charleston, there is truly no better introduction than sailing the harbor, taking in the views of the historic downtown skyline and towering Ravenel bridge. Taelor and James chose to do just that, kicking off their epic wedding weekend by inviting their family and friends on a sunset sail. The dress code? Navy and white and nautical vibes – so chic!
T + J greeted each guest personally as they arrived to the docks, before sneaking off for a handful of portraits before boarding the boat! Whether it’s a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon or wedding brunch, I highly recommend budgeting a few minutes into your plans for portraits; after all, even the little details and outfit choices for the smaller wedding weekend events were chosen with intent and speak to who you are. When in doubt, do the portraits!
The sailing party enjoyed pastel sunset views, dolphin sightings and hellos from passing boats, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres throughout the cocktail party. James brought a case of his favorite cigars to share; and we proceeded to take the coolest groom portrait in existence (you’re the best, James!). Before a fast-paced wedding day and epic night of partying, this laid back sail made for the perfect first chapter of an incredible weekend.
Take me back to this incredible night on the water, celebrating the sweetest couple ever! A huge thank you to Kayla from SouthernHouse Events for putting together the entire weekend down to the smallest detail, and bringing a personalized touch to even the smallest aspects of the weekend. Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Spadafore!
